the artificial forest

Full-size trees, palms and planted walls, sculpted by hand to look and feel alive. Green through every season, with no water, soil or daylight.

the artificial forest

We grow landmark trees for places nature can’t reach: hotel lobbies, airport halls, mall atria and theme parks. Sculpted at full scale, finished by hand, and green on the day they arrive.

every season

Four seasons. One tree.

Heat, frost, falling leaves outside. Inside the lobby of Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay, the olive grove stays exactly as it was installed: green, full and maintenance-free.

the collection

Dozens of species. Infinite forms.

Each species is modeled from the living tree: leaf shape, color, bark and branching. Every piece can be shaped to your ceiling, planter or view line.

the craft

Built to be touched. Built to endure.

Trunks are sculpted at 1:1 scale over steel frames and hand-painted, bark by bark. Leaves are cut from UV-stable fabric and plastic, then silk-screened so the veins and color shifts read true up close.

Sculpted barkEach trunk is carved and painted by hand, with knots, moss and weathering.
Soft to the touchLeaves are flexible and move in the air like the living species.

how a tree is made

From forest to finished tree.

  1. A coating being brushed onto the trunk of a living tree in a forest
01In the forestOur team goes to the forest to find and replicate the texture and habit of real trees.
  2. A blue silicone mold being applied over a tree trunk
02Molding the barkSilicone is laid over real bark to capture every ridge, knot and crack.
  3. A hand pressing a freshly cast bark skin onto a trunk form
03Casting the skinThe impression is cast and pressed by hand into a new bark skin.
  4. A white branching tree frame resting on a pallet in the workshop
04Shaping the frameTrunk and branches are built to the natural habit of the species.
  5. A finished trunk with deep, realistic bark texture
05Finished by handBark skins are fitted, joined and painted until the seams disappear.

safety & compliance

Safe for public spaces. Tested on both sides of the Atlantic.

In hotels, malls, airports and offices, fire rating comes first. Our fire-retardant materials have been independently tested by SGS to both the US standard, ASTM E84 (Class A), and the European standard, EN 13501-1 (Euroclass B-s1, d0). The same tree can be specified for a lobby in Miami or a mall in Amsterdam.

ASTM E84Class A

Meets the Class A interior wall and ceiling finish category referenced by the NFPA 101 Life Safety Code and the International Building Code.

where they grow

Nature where nature can’t go.

Deep-plan atria, airport halls, basements and hotel lobbies rarely get the light a real tree needs. An artificial forest brings the same calm and scale to those spaces, and it arrives fully grown.

from our workshop

Built at full size. Shaped by hand.

Every tree is assembled and finished at full scale in our Shanghai workshop before it ships, so the proportions, canopy and branches are checked before it reaches you.
